Found this article on what to do in the case of a nuclear or terrorist attack.
Scott is our resident survivalist. No, I did not say "wacko", I said "survivalist". Big difference

What to do in case of a nuclear attack? Simply assume the position - put your head between your knees and kiss your *** goodbye. Whimpering is optional.
I used to live in South Jersey. During the Cold War, it was widely believed if there was an attack we had little chance of survival. We weren't a target but we were surrounded by most likely targets - New York, Philadelphia, D.C....etc... If the blast didn't get us the radiation would.
I guess I grew up with a very cavalier attitude. If given a choice, I'd rather be killed by the blast than suffer through the aftermath.
DMG: I guess if I made it through the blast, I'd have no other choice than to protect my family. It's not like I could watch them wither away because I wasn't lucky enough to be in the blast.
On the other hand, the terrorist attack example has some merit. There would be ways to get to somewhat safe-havens, if you have a plan.
(Doin' Scott proud again.)
Yes - you are right. If I survived the blast, I would have to be prepared to take care of my family. I can only hope and pray I will never be put into that position.
