Yes! For the second time in a couple months, a Democrat got something right.
Charles Schumer, Democratic Senator from New York, said the following:
I think the American people are getting tired of sending the money with no end in sight. He is right; I am sick of sending the money with no end in sight, to:
- The war on poverty
- The war on drugs
- The IRS (to enable that awful organization)
- Corporate welfare programs
- State entitlement programs
- Pet projects for Congressmen and Senators
- Political campaigns

I dunno... Is "money for the war" the same as "funding soldiers?"
The "war on terror" is as nebulous and void of meaning as the "war on drugs." I object to them both.
I interpret Schumer's comment to mean he either fails to grasp the seriousness of the threat (of terrorism) or he is simply taking an opposite position to score political points - or both.
I have no problem spending tax money in hopes of preventing another 9/11. I do have a problem with spending money hand over fist on entitlement programs (social or corporate) when the recipients are not held to any accountability.
