Tough call between Scoreless Soccer and Calvinball.
My choice: scoreless soccer. Why? Kids learn the fundamentals of an international sport, are supervised, and don't worry about winning or losing. The problems with Calvinball are that the rules are constantly changing without your knowledge, and you can belittle your opponent. Absolutely unwanted in this society.

My brother and I played a game outdoors when we were growing up. We didn't really know what to call it. Later when we read Calvin and Hobbes we realized it was our own ever- changing version of Calvinball. Memories!
Soccer is for girlie-men.
Barb, I read your words in a thick Austrian accent.
Then you read them correctly. :)
My choice: Calvinball because I refuse to cave in to what is "acceptable" in this "society."
:-)
BTW...I abhor scoreless soccer. It's fine by me if, for a year or two, they get the kiddoes to learn the actions of a sport - there is scoreless baseball, too - but you eventually have to teach competition as well.
When was the last time your favorite New England lib rooted for the Patriots to have a tie? Or for their favorite loser Dem politician to "play fair"?
Hah!
Calvinball all the way
^_^
Calvinball!!! w00t!
